The Second Decade for Alliance EFC

March 1990  -  Ten weeks of "revival" meetings with the Anders Family Christian Ministry begin with attendees from twenty-two churches in Alliance and a four-state area attending--approximately 900 decisions for Christ or re-dedications of lives. 

April 1990  -  A missions tithing policy was approved by the congregation with 10% of general offerings committed to missions and outreach. 

September 1991  -  Celebration of 10th anniversary of the first worship service with fellowship role of 110 and average attendance of 75. 

March 1993  -  Hosted a "Resolving Personal and Spiritual Conflicts" seminar led by Dr. Timothy Warner and attended by 65 people. 

August 1994  -  The church called its second pastor, Dan Parrish and his wife Jeanne, by unanimous vote to replace Pastor Sam Reed who resigned and moved in May to shepherd a church plant in Superior, NE. 

December 1994  -  Upon the unanimous vote of the congregation, the church building at 611 Cody is purchased for $44,000 to be paid over five years. 

March 1995  -  Church celebrated with a special installation of Pastor Dan Parrish and a dedication of its recently acquired building.

January 1997 – Pioneer Club for children started with 20 children attending the first meeting. 

July 1998 – Congregation votes to revise the by-laws to include Elder and Deacon Boards in place of the former Deacon and General Board. 

March through October 1999 – The church body takes an active part in the community-wide “Pray for every household in Alliance”.  

September 1999 – Pastor Dan Parrish resigns his position and accepts a call to ministry in Michigan.
